Rotary Charity Event raises over £2500

Ullapool Rotary’s annual golf day has raised a sum of cash for local good causes, including a donation in memory of a dearly-missed local lad.

Earlier this month, the rotary club held their third annual golf day, solidifying it as a well-established feature on the Ullapool Golf Club calendar.

Nine teams took part, with a mixture of local businesses and some from further afield, such as: Ullapool Construction, Ullapool Harbour, RWR Catering, Lochbroom FC, Ullapool Rotary Club, Mowi, Ullapool Golf Club, GA Barnie and OMAC Construction from Stornoway.

As well as this, former Scotland goalkeeper Alan Rough was a guest player and speaker at the event.

“It was a fun day, with the scramble format making for a relaxed yet competitive match,” said Steve Boyle, secretary of the rotary club. Ullapool Construction came out as the winners, with an impressive score of 55.4. Over £2500 was raised in total which is a really impressive amount from the event.
